More Than Imelda

Did you guys ever watch Independence Day?  Not the second one that I didn't even finish sitting through, but the first one.  The one with the epic speech by Bill Pullman.  "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight..." As we come up on my wedding date a year ago I am flooded with the memories and the insanity of that one particular day. It was one of the hottest days of the year.  I had insisted on being a June bride, understanding that this could have been a possibility and yet sucked into the hallmark concept of June.  I can blame it most likely on my yearly overdose of Hallmark Christmas movies.  Regardless I insisted June 17th, 2017 was the perfect day to be married.  It was easy to remember and it was a Saturday in June.
